The Fin is what happens when you look beyond the brief. When Northwell Health asked for a print ad promoting their Veteran Services, we saw an opportunity to create a life-changing innovation. By fostering a cross-industry collaboration between prosthetic scientists, 3D printing experts and aerospace engineers, our team addressed an unmet need in the prosthetic market. The result is a first-of-its-kind amphibious prosthetic that enables amputees to transition directly from walking to swimming without adjustments. Today, The Fin continues to make headlines as it seeks FDA approval on its road to changing the lives of more than 2 million amputees nationwide.

While developing The Fin, we organized and filmed the entire process, from R&D to prototyping and real-world tests. This allowed us to create scalable content showcasing how Northwell Health delivers on its unique brand promise.
The Fin’s creation story was made public via a 6-minute documentary titled, The Return.
We built an online hub to house the documentary and provide additional information about Northwell Health’s veterans services.

The Fin was launched via 2-page spread in The New York Times, as well as Facebook Live event on their page.
From there, we pushed out a range of digital and social assets, including a Facebook canvas unit, carousels, story ads and more.
The story got some much buzz that Northwell Health asked us to create a TV spot. So here’s the whole story in :30.
